As well as teaching Pilates at the Whiteway centre, I also teach circuit classes with an emphasis on increasing muscle strength and am pleased to offer this new strength class. I have been a gym member and outdoor runner for over 20 years and am a qualified gym instructor and personal trainer. Staying active by going for walks, swimming, dancing, gardening etc. while great for cardiovascular health doesn’t specifically target muscle strength and the World Health Organisation recommends two strength sessions per week. In recent years, I have changed my personal training to focus more on building muscle, and I feel stronger and look better as a result. Strength based training using dumbbells and resistance bands isn’t difficult and it’s very adaptable to different fitness levels and for home workouts. By joining the class you’ll learn how to build muscle through lots of different exercises. I encourage you to give it a try! |
