Course Description

A ten week workshop focusing on the colourful versatile medium of acrylic. In a relaxed and friendly environment students will be shown how to use modern and traditional painting techniques: brushwork, layering, texture, and glazing. We will be looking at still life, portraiture and landscape. Tuition will include tips on colour mixing, composition, and tonal values. The aim of the course is to enable you to confidently create lively acrylic paintings with impact.

Please note this course is for beginners only. If you have studied with Caroline within the last two years you should join a continuation course

Your Tutor

Originally from Cheshire, I attained an art foundation with distinction at Manchester before moving to Brighton where I completed an Honours Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I am lucky enough to live by the sea in Newhaven, East Sussex with two adored cats as part of my family but am also based in Altrincham. Cheshire. I can often be found painting plein air in the summer with a borrowed doggy companion.

My paintings are an exploration of rich colour, mood and light with a special interest in reflections. I enjoy painting any kind of subject matter such as still life, seascape, landscape  although my particular favourite is people and pet portraiture.
