Course Description

This course is designed for complete beginners. It will provide a perfect starting point to those who have an interest in Italy and in the Italian culture, both for holidays and cultural reasons. The course will focus on the basic structures and concepts that regulate the language, with a specific focus on vocabulary and phrases used to communicate in everyday circumstances: providing personal information and introductions, food, hobbies, and activities. The course will include group activities on basic speaking interactions, listening, and writing. 

Half term is 24th - 28th October.

Your Tutor

Nicola Sorrenti (Nico) is a native Italian language teacher from southern Italy.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Italian language teaching to non-native speakers (University of Messina, 2014), a CELTA Certificate (Brighton, 2017), and a Master’s Degree in TESOL with ICT (University of Brighton, 2020)

Over the years, he has worked in various contexts, with learners of all ages, both face to face and online. He uses a blended approach with the inclusion of cultural aspects, both to sustain the students' interests and motivation in the subject, and to meet learners’ needs.

His experiences across Italy and the UK contributed to develop a varied background that ranges from classical studies to cutting-edge methodologies in the world of digital language teaching.

His interests also include comparative linguistics, literature, storytelling, visual arts and technology.
