George Frederick Handel is generally acknowledged to be one of the most important composers of the later (‘High’) baroque period in music history. This five week course will survey his output in all musical genres and attempt to place his music in a social and cultural context. No specialist knowledge required – just an interest in listening to music and finding out more about it. No half term as the course is only five weeks |

Peter Copley D.Phil, MA, B.mus is a composer, cellist and pianist. He is a visiting lecturer at Oxford University Department for Continuing Education, the University of Sussex and is an Associate Lecturer for the Open University, where he has also been a Research Associate for the music faculty. |
