Course Description

This course examines key issues around the development of modernism and modernity. It will examine a range artists and movements including Manet, Impressionism, Symbolism before  looking at the huge innovations of the early (20th – Cubism, Fauvism, German Expressionism, Dada and Surrealism. It will then think on the shift of power away from Europe to the USA and will look at the late modernism of Pollock, Rothko and the New

JACKIE PARRY MA

Jackie was Course Convenor and Lecturer in The History of Art at CCE, University of Sussex. She is currently an Associate Lecturer with the Open University. She also does independent lectures and leads study trips to Europe and the USA.
