Course Description

This course will examine a wide range of artists from an international field. Post WWII Modernism was situated at the centre of world power in New York, however by the 21st century geopolitics have seen that other stories have become evident and expressed by alternative media - video, installation, global exhibitions etc. Indeed the demarcation of art from visual culture has become often contentious, shifting and complex. Starting with the development of Post Modernism the course ends in considering the global conditions for art today. There will hopefully be a gallery visit each term.

There’s no class on 18th January. Half term is 14th- 18th February, and the extra class will be at the end of term on 29th March.
